Caregiver Support Groups - February 2009
Caregiver Support Groups address the needs of caregivers and educate them on options and resources that can help provide relief. The sessions are no charge to caregivers and offer an opportunity to address problems and find solutions to caregiving challenges.

"Give Kids a Smile"
An annual one-day volunteer initiative to provide free dental screenings and treatment to the underserved children ages 4-16 years old in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb Counties.
Date: February 7, 2009
Place: University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry
2700 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.
Detroit, MI 48208
Free dental screenings and treatment as time allows on this day only. Services that may be provided include exams, x-rays, cleaning and flouride, fillings, sealants, nerve treatment and extractions as needed. Dental volunteers from Macomb District, Oakland District, and Detroit District Societies will participate.
Sponsored by Macomb, Oakland, Detroit Dental Societies and the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry.

Free Tax Preparation Sites-Southeastern Michigan
Michigan has a variety of free tax preparation services available to assist you with your taxes.
Check this site for a preliminary list of free tax preparation sites in your county. (This list will be updated soon, so check back often.)

Residents of Wayne, Oakland, Macomb and Livingston counties can go to Accounting Aid Society tax preparation sites for free, in addition to the other sites listed above.

Eligibility Guidelines
Individuals with annual houshold incomes of $20,000 or less and families with annual houshold incomes of $42,000 or less.
Several sites operate on a first come first served basis, but other sites require appointments as noted. Seniors and those physically unable to visit a tax site can use our (Accounting Aid Society) mail in service.
Senior Citizens also have a number of AARP sponsored free Tax-Aide preparation sites available.
